2022-2023 School Year Key Dates for Student Information Systems

*Teachers can post grades multiple times in Aspen while the grade posting window is open, and grades must be posted to display on progress reports, report cards, and transcripts.
**The day before progress report distribution is reserved for administrative review of posted grades and reports. Teachers can revise and repost grades on Thursday, September 21st, as needed.
The last date that a principal can request a change to school grading scales for SY2022-2023 is September 6, 2022. Please reference the annual memo from the Office of Education Policy and Procedures for additional details.

**Teachers can post grades multiple times in Aspen while the grade posting window is open, and grades must be posted to display on progress reports, report cards, and transcripts. On Friday, December 23rd, high school teachers must change the class filter to access Quarter 2 classes.

^Past grades may need to be recorded manually in Aspen for students entering the district for the first time. For existing CPS students who experience schedule or homeroom changes between grading periods, it may be necessary to merge transcript records to ensure accurate final grade calculations, including for summer eligibility forecast reporting.

✝Students attending CPS Academic Centers within CPS high schools are not subject to the Elementary School Promotion Policy, and the deadlines for grade entry for summer school eligibility do not apply.
*Semester grades for 12th grade students should be posted at least 48 hours prior to graduation ceremonies.
^The deadline to submit requests to waive graduation requirements is Monday, May 15, 2023.
**Teachers can post grades multiple times in Aspen while the grade posting window is open, and grades must be posted to display on progress reports, report cards, and transcripts.
***Any high school interested in a later date for computing class ranks can request to have them computed on Saturday, June 10. The request for the alternate schedule must be sent to the Office of Education Policy and Procedures by Friday, May 19th (policy@cps.edu). Final report cards and transcripts would then be available on Monday, June 12.

Elementary Schools can generate report cards for 8th graders when grade posting is complete for all 8th grade teachers, and for all other grade levels once grade posting is complete for all teachers.
*Reading and Math grades - including Algebra - are used for Summer School Eligibility. IMPORTANT: Any additional grades posted after Thursday, May 25, 2023 will affect the student's report card but will NOT affect students' promotion status and whether they must attend Summer Bridge or Summer Acceleration. Students attending CPS Academic Centers within CPS high schools are not subject to the Elementary School Promotion Policy, and the deadlines for grade entry for summer school eligibility do not apply.

*Preliminary High School Transcripts do not contain Second Semester Class Ranks. For seniors who are eligible for graduation, the spring semester CPS graduation date (June 7, 2023) will begin appearing on high school official transcripts on May 18, 2023.
Final Elementary School Transcripts are available anytime after final grades are posted for all students.
